Pre-Ballet (ages 4 - 5)
This level continues to focus on motor skills, but it also emphasizes muscle development, coordination, and more advanced ballet technique including beginning barre techniques and beginning center work. Ballet 1 (ages 5 -6)
This level focuses on dance understanding as well as social structure while continuing to learn classical movement. Ballet 2 ( ages 7-8) This level continues muscle coordination and more complicated movement while also begin pre-pointe training. Ballet 3 (ages 9 - 11) For the intermediate student who has demonstrated the ability to accomplish more difficult technique. This student has had experience in pointe work. This is typically apprentice and company class level. To take classes at this level a student must have the approval of the Artistic Director. |
Company (ages 12+)
Pre-Company and Company level for the advanced dancers. Company auditions for 2024/2025 are September 7. The CCDE Company tours the Tri-State area performing, as well as, performing at many community events in the area Back to the Barre (Open) For all levels and ages starting with stretching on the floor. Barre exercises with basic ballet vocabulary covers positions and movements such as plie, tendu, releve, pique, port de bras, rond de jambe, fondu, and frappe. Class proceeds to the center floor with waltz, soutenu, arabesque, pas de bourree, and pirouette. Concludes with tap for cardio as time permits. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT® 200), with a passion for connecting breath to movement and helping people discover how yoga can complement all aspects of healthy living and sport. |
Class placement is based on skill achievement and is at the discretion of the Artistic Director. Ages provided are meant to serve as a general guideline only.
*After School Programs--In addition to our Educational programs for primary and secondary students, there are in-school and after school out-reach programs that work with area students to help build self-confidence, positive body image, self-worth and life skills through the art and discipline of dance. We are committed to making ballet an accessible art form to all children.
